Q:
Do I have to put my hand out for the bus?
A: No. But if you're at a place where
several routes stop, it will help us a lot.
Q: Do I have to have the right money
for my fare?
A: No; you
might not even know how much your fare will be. We're happy to give change,
but once again, if you can find the right money, it will make the going
easier.
Q: Can I use my bus pass?
A: Yes.
We accept all local authority bus passes issued in our area.
Q: What about children's fares?
A: Any number of children under the age of five can travel
free with an adult (we're very uneasy about under-5's travelling alone,
and won't normally allow it). There's a children's fare (normally half-price)
for 5-15 year olds. Full fare is payable after the sixteenth birthday.
Q:
Can I bring my buggy on the bus?
A: You're welcome. On nearly all of our routes we have Buggy
Zones where you can just wheel buggy and baby straight to a special area.
On rare occasions when the Zone gets full, your driver will ask whether
you'd prefer to fold down the buggy or wait for the next bus.
Q: What about wheelchairs?
A: Our fleet is the most modern in the country, and already
over 250 buses are wheelchair-friendly; a figure that's growing every
year. Give our Customer Services team a call if you'd like to find out
more.
Q: Is smoking allowed on trent barton buses?
A: No. All our buses are no-smoking. We also like to keep
our buses very clean for customers, so we don't allow hot food or drink
to be consumed on the bus. You'll see our special cleaning squads at work
at most major bus terminals.
Q:
Can I use my mobile or personal stereo?
A: Yes, you're welcome - but please show consideration for others.
Q: What about my safety on the bus?
A: Our buses are very safe places, and research proves that
people feel secure. We run only single deck buses, Most buses are now fitted with a highly sophisticated CCTV system. Undercover
bus detectives and mystery customers travel regularly on all our routes.
Q: Anything I should know about your night
buses?
A: They're very popular and we're introducing more and more
of them. It's worth checking the timetable to see where they go from (for
example we can't use Nottingham Victoria Bus Station after midnight, it's
locked). Once the clock has struck twelve, there's a special flat fare on most
night buses. No other prepaid tickets are accepted after midnight.
